In a prior Blog post, we covered what a No-Fault Divorce is. Click here to read that Blog post. Today we will go over what a Publication Divorce is.

When a person wants to get a Divorce in New York, usually they have to give Notice to their spouse that they are initiating the Divorce process. One of the reasons is so that the spouse has an opportunity to respond and negotiate (if any disputes over any Divorce issues) for Divorce terms they think are fair for them. But, sometimes you do not know where your spouse is. For this reason, sometimes the Court will allow you to give them Notice through Publication (in a newspaper). Usually not an easy feat to accomplish (Court allowing Divorce by Publication), but it is possible.

Mr. Oster has handled Publication Divorces before. Reach out to OsterLegal if you need help with one.
