Last week we covered what an Uncontested Divorce is. Click the link right here to read that blog post. Today we will go over what Equitable Distribution is.
When a couple gets Divorced in New York, one of the things that happens is their marital property will get divided amongst them. This is known as Equitable Distribution. But Equitable does not always mean equal (50/50). Equitable usually more means “fairly.” Equitable Distribution, depending on the marriage, can be both complicated and lengthy. At OsterLegal, we strive to make the process easier for our clients and help them get an appropriate resolution.
